The executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) and human rights activist, Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, has described Osun state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola as a pathological liar.
The activist said the governor is always rebranding lies for the people on the financial status of the state since he came to into power.
He said that Aregbesola has been discreet about the loan incurred by his administration.
However Sulaiman warned the Osun state governor to stop deceiving people of the state about the debts, stressing that it is only the simple truth with the good people that can save the present administration from this mess.
The human right activist advised Aregbesola to reveal the total figure of the debt incurred by the state government and 30 local governments areas of the state and what the loan was used for.
He also urged Aregbesola to publicly publish the figure of the loan and the financial institution that gave the state such loan.
In a press statement, the former Deputy Governor of the state, Senator Iyiola Omisore said Aregbesola has incurred N480 billion loan.
He said, “Governor Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola has failed Osun people in all facets of humanhood, particularly, the debt regime that Aregbesola plunged the state into and non-payment of workers’ salaries and retirees for period of seven to eight months now. It is better for Aregbesola to openly through national dailies to let the people of the state know the actual debt of the state and the financial institutions where they procured the loan as well as what they used the loan for.”
Meanwhile, Governor Aregbesola has said that his administration has performed well since his assumption of office for a second term despite his failure to pay state workers for the past seven months.
