Buhari To Finally Move To Aso Rock And Make Appointments. READ When

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to finally move to Aso Rock and announce some appointments in his cabinet next week.

Vanguard obtained the information from reliable presidency sources. Following three weeks of post-inauguration controversies, Buhari is said to be fully ready for both important moves.

A source, who pleaded for anonymity, said:

“It is true that the construction company has completed the President’s wing and he is set to move in any moment from now. As at today, it is only the vice president’s residence that is yet to be fully completed.

“We expect that the two men will move into the villa by next week since the work in the vice president’s apartment is not a serious one.”

Regarding the appointments, the source explained that President Buhari would name some key officials shortly after moving to the presidential villa.

Former Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola, is reportedly being tipped to emerge as chief of staff to the president, governor and a senior advocate of Nigeria.

Buhari, who was said to have handed over the 800-page transition report to the team of his close associates, allegedly instructed that after the work on the document was completed, it should be given to Fashola. The latter is expected to reduce it into an implementable format for Buhari.

“Hopefully, from next week, some appointments would be announced. Buhari is a fast reader and he will be able to take immediate actions based on the transition report.”

Buhari Transition Committee member said:

“The final report is very rich and we believe it will help Mr. President in putting a solid structure of his government and give him policy direction as well.”

It should be noted that earlier this week Buhari and his aide Garba Shehu explained that the incumbent was not in a hurry to appoint ministers because he had just received the transition report. The president said he needed time to carefully study the document.

Meanwhile different versions of ministerial lists have been circulating in the media since the power handover  on May 29. In a recent development it was alleged that the list would include Babatunde Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi, Engineer Segun Oni, Professor Pat Utomi, Oby Ezekwesili.
