Flying Eagles have advantage over Germany, says NFF

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has urged the Flying Eagles to re-enact the magic that saw them defeating all the German teams they played in their friendly matches during the team’s three weeks camping in the European country when they meet in one of the second round matches of the on-going FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand tomorrow.

Nigeria will meet Germany in Christ Church, New Zealand by 8.30 a.m. tomorrow. NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, said yesterday in Abuja the fact that the team had their final preparations in a camp in Germany would offer them a good advantage over the Germans, stressing that they would have nothing to fear against the European champions.

Sanusi noted that the lessons of the Flying Eagles’ stay in Germany would put them in a position to contain their opponents, as they are already familiar with their playing patterns.

“I have a feeling that the Flying Eagles will go far in this championship. Against the Germans, the fact that they camped in Germany is a major advantage they have.

In Germany, they played three quality friendly matches. They have known the mentality of German players. They should not have anything to fear from the German team because they have played there,” Sanusi noted.
