The theme of the summit that begins tomorrow, according to Uduaghan is “Development, Infrastructure and Security.”

He said that these were the key challenges to  growth in the region.

Uduaghan who spoke about the origin of the South-South summit said it started when governors of the region met over three years ago and agreed to do something about the economy of the region.  The maiden edition was held in Calabar, Cross River State.

He added that at the Calabar summit it was agreed that a structure be set up to drive future projects in the region leading to the birth of BRACED (Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo and Delta) Commission.
