The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB), has announced the promotion of about 13,667 teacher and non-teaching staff for the 2010/2011 exercise across the 23 local government areas of the state.

A statement by the Director, Social Mobilisation of the board, Alhaji Shuaibu Dabo, said the board’s Chairman, Ishaya Dare Akau said those promoted were part of the about 15,758 senior staff shortlisted.

He however said henceforth, exercise would no longer be business as usual, noting that it would be based on the learning outcome of the pupils being handled by the teachers.

He noted that time has come for teacher of the government to be conversant with the approved state benchmark on literacy and numeracy as they will serve as yardsticks for subsequent promotions.

He assured that the board was working round the clock to ensure the speedy completion of the 2012 and 2013 promotions before the end of the year. He advised those who failed in the previous exercise to try again.

He noted that the list of beneficiaries had been sent to the various local government education offices urging those who were not promoted but have genuine complaints to channel same in writing through their education secretaries.
