Lagos makes clarification on boards’ dissolution

The Lagos State Government says heads and chief executives of government agencies and parastatals are not affected by the dissolution of their boards as recently directed by the state governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode.

The clarification is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tunji Bello on Wednesday in Lagos.

The government, in the statement, announced that the State House of Assembly Commission is also exempted from the dissolution directive.

“The clarification had become necessary because of different wrong interpretations given to the media announcement of the dissolution,” the statement said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Ambode had on Monday approved the dissolution of all boards of parastatals and agencies of government in the state.

The State Civil Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission and the State Independent Electoral Commission were exempted from the directive.
