Man loses wife after triplets’ birth

A man, whose wife died 24 hours after she was delivered of triplets, has cried out for assistance to help him nurse the babies.

The jobless widower, Imafidon Samuel, said he had two children before his late wife was delivered of the babies.

Imafidon said his late wife, Anthonia, was certified hale and hearty after delivery, but developed complications the next day. All efforts to make her live failed.

“I named the babies, Peter, Paul and Gift. I know they are God’s blessings to me, but things are very difficult now because I am jobless. I spend over N16,600 weekly on their milk. I raise the money from friends and well-meaning Nigerians. Taking care of the children has not been easy for me. My parents are old and it is my elder sister that left her business to help me take care of the children,” he said.

The traditional ruler of Benin Kingdom, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Erediauwa and his wife, Queen Omoye Esther, it was learnt, have donated an undisclosed amount of money towards the upkeep of the babies. Now, they look up to Nigerians for more assistance.
