Nigeria FG seeks US help to fight terrorism

ABUJA — The Federal Government Friday urged the United States of America, USA, to assist Nigeria train her Military and other security agencies to enable her address her current security challenges.

VICE President Namadi Sambo made the plea when the US Deputy Assistant Ambassador Vickei Huddleston paid him a courtesy visit at the State House, Abuja, against the backdrop of bombings in some parts of the country, including the police headquarters and the UN building in Abuja by the Boko Haram Muslim sect.

Sambo who noted that terrorism was a new phenomenon in the country praised the efforts of nation’s security agencies for rising up to the occasion in spite of lack of the needed training and sophisticated equipment to curtail the menace.
