Nigeria Ranked 15th Fastest Growing Country on Facebook

Nigeria is ranked 15th fastest growing country (nation) on Facebook [STATS] as of August 12th, 2011.

Recent statistics have revealed that Nigeria is among the top 15 fastest growing country on Facebook, according to SocialBakers.

In the past six months, the rise of Nigeria’s Facebook population has become unprecedented.

With over 3.6 million Facebook users as at July 2011, Nigeria added over 200,000 users within the past month with a growth rate of 6.55%.

UPDATE 09.01.11: Total Facebook users from Nigeria is now 3, 768,400.

Penetration of online Population: 8.57%

The total population in Nigeria was last reported at 158.3 million people in 2010 from 45.2 million in 1960, changing 251 percent during the last 50 years. Nigeria has 2.29 percent of the world’s total population which means that one person in every 44 people on the planet is a resident of Nigeria.
