NIGERIA: Veteran Nollywood actor Enebeli Elebuwa dead

Veteran Nollywood actor Enebeli Elebuwa is confirmed dead. Sadly, Nollywood has lost another important figure in the growing Nigerian film industry. May his soul rest in peace.

Enebeli Elebuwa, who is from Upkane, in Otagunu Local Government of Delta State (Nigeria), had been battling with the severe stroke illness for over a year and was reported to be responding to treatment in an India hospital, where he was being treated until the sad announcement of his sudden death.

His death comes shortly after that of other veteran actors like Akin Ogungbe, who died last week, as well as Pete Eneh, who passed on last month.

Confirming the breaking news to NET, the PRO of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Frank Dallas, described the veteran actor as a friend, brother and veteran that will be greatly missed by both colleagues and the Nollywood community as a whole.

News about his death is quite shocking because few weeks ago, the veteran actor Enebeli Enebeli was quoted in the mail to have said, “The correct diagnosis at Asian Institute of Medical Sciences has given me hope. My movements were quite restricted earlier but the diagnosis and subsequent treatment at AIMS has given me hope. I am satisfied and there is no cause to complain. I am undergoing physiotherapy and my rehabilitation is well underway at AIMS under the guidance of Dr. Sushil Garg of the Neurology department at Asian Institute of Medical Sciences.”

Which brings us the question of: What could have went wrong? If Enebeli Elebuwa was recovering well, how come he is now dead? It’s just believable.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
