TO strengthen academic ties and improve its visibility, the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) in Ago-Iwoye has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Nottingham, and University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow, both in the United Kindgdom.
This was contained in a statement by OOU Public Relations Officer Niyi Oduwole.
The terms of the deal are that OOU will have the opportunity to establish academic co-operation with these universities in the areas of exchange of students and staff.
While signing the MoU the OOU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Saburi Adejimi Adesanya said the universtity would benefit from the joint research, curricula development and research projects that would issue from the agreement.
Prof David Greenaway, Vice-Chancellor, University of Nottingham, and Prof Craig Mahoney, Vice-Chancellor, University of the West of Scotland signed on behalf of their institutions.
It would be recalled that OOU had entered into similar linkage with some foreign institutions in the past. They include: Rutgers State University New Jersey, USA; Northwestern University, Illinois, United States; and the University of Winneba, Ghana.
Others are: University of South Africa (UNISA); Higher Education Academy (HEA) York, UK and The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, to mention a few.
