BENUE State Police Commissioner, Mr. Emmanuel Obiako has decried the high rate of crime being perpetrated by youths in the state and said that over 51 youths between the ages of 18 and 30, were presently in police custody for various crimes.
Obiako who spoke during a press briefing in his office in Makurdi, blamed parents for failing to control their children and give them good upbringing. He warned that the police would not spare anybody, no matter how highly placed caught in any crime especially during the approaching festive season.
While frowning at the high rate of car theft, especially government-owned ones, Obiako observed that the vehicles are usually parked in odd places at night by top government officials.
