Silent Revolution Going On In Education Sector – Jonathan says

President Goodluck Jonathan has said that his administration would no longer tolerate inefficiency in the management of the educational system while saying that educational institutions should at least solve the problems of their immediate hosts.

The president who spoke at the 19th and 20th convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna yesterday, said that silent revolution was going on in the educational sector of the country.

According to him, the silent revolution was aimed at correcting the structural  deficiency in the sector and position the sector to meet the national aspiration hence his government would not tolerate the inefficiency that have failed the nation and the system in the past.

The president, represented by the Minister of Education, Hajiya  Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufai said that “development can not be achieved with out sound and robust educational structure that is why our administration is committed to improved Education”.

Consequently he urged the Universities authorities to position the schools to be at least relevant to their host communities by identifying and solving their immediate problems.

He said that based on the belief of his administration that Education was key to transformation of the nation,  each of the 36 states of the federation now have a federal university.
