Man beheads toddler for rituals in Niger State

NigeriaTrends.com | Niger State — A Minna Magistrate Court has ordered a 24 year old farmer, Danladi Abubakar be remanded in prison for allegedly beheading 11-month old baby for rituals.

Abubakar who is currently facing a one-count charge of culpable homicide punishable under section 222 of the panel code law, was alleged to have sneaked into the room of father of the baby, Malam Mohammed Worogi and stole the tot before beheading and severing the private parts of the child for rituals.

The accused person told the court that he was contracted for the shoddy deal by a man in Bida, who is currently on the run for N20,000.

The incidence which happened in Fujeregi village in Gbako local government area of the state recently, threw the community into chaos when it was discovered that the child was missing.

A search team for the child failed to yield result forcing the community to resort into seeking divine intervention for the exposure of the evil perpetrators.

It was gathered that the efficacy of the prayer session pushed the accused person to make public confession to elders of the village.

The incidence was immediately reported to the police and the accused person was charged to court where he pleaded guilty to the offence.

The presiding Magistrate Maryam Ladidi King, then ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending the advice of the Director of public prosecution (DPP) on the case.

No date has been fixed for further hearing of the case has it may be transfer to a superior court for lack of jurisdiction.
