NDLEA Arrests Military Officer Alongside Six Others
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Bayelsa State Command has apprehended a soldier and six other individuals for dealing in cocaine and other illegal substances.
NDLEA’s Superintendent of Narcotics, Mr. Osakwe Ikenna revealed this on Thursday and noted that the suspects were actually picked up from different regions of the state in the past one week.
He revealed that 32kg of different drugs were seized from the suspects.

Osakwe noted that the unnamed military personnel was 35 year old.
He said: “The military personnel was arrested by operatives from the State Command on motorised patrol along the East-West Road while ferrying a 30kg of dried weeds suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.
“He was coming from Delta State area en route Rivers State before he was nabbed.”

One suspect whose name was described as Christian Ayebakuro, who is 34 years old was found in possession of two kilogrammes of dried weeds suspected to be Cannabis Sativa while another suspect Johnson was arrested in possession of various quantities and types of drugs, comprising heroine, cocaine and cannabis.
Osakwe then warned all drug traffickers and dealers to desist from the illicit business and said that if they don’t quit the NDLEA will apprehend them.
He said, “All residents of the state are advised to keep watchful eyes on the activities of their children and wards to ensure that they are not inadvertently lured into illicit drug activities.
“They are also advised to be vigilant of the activities in their immediate environment and ensure that all illegal drug activities are reported to the State Command for expeditious action.”
The NDLEA had last week been trying to arrest Senator Kashamu who is suspected of being a drug lord, but their case was nullified by the court.
