Oshiomhole warns fuel marketers against hoarding

GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole has threatened to revoke the certificates of occupancy (Cs of O) of petroleum marketers in Edo State who refuse to open their stations and sell fuel at N97.00 per litre to the public.

Oshiomhole’s action may have been prompted by long queues at some filling stations, which dispensed products to customers yesterday.

The governor, who went round Benin City to monitor the level of marketers’ compliance with the new price regime, was unhappy that most of the stations remained shut to motorists, even when they had petrol.

At a station in Uselu, the governor directed the manager who had stopped selling to the public to resume the sale of the petrol.

Oshiomhole said it was sad that the marketers were quick to adjust their pumps to reflect N141 and N145 per litre, but were reluctant to comply with the new regime of N97 per litre.
