NTDC Launches Mobilisation Campaign

THE Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) yesterday in Lagos launched a campaign targeted at boosting domestic tourism.

Tagged ‘Mobilisation Tourism,’ over one million tourists are  expected to sign up for the programme, which is also part of tourism body’s efforts  to mobilise support for ‘Team Nigeria’ at the London 2012 Olympics holding this year .

Flagging off the campaign, the NTDC’s Director General, Olusegun Runsewe, said the campaign was part of the new move by his corporation to rekindle and re-awaken the consciousness of Nigerians for Nigeria. ‘‘We are mobilising people for our country,’’ he said, adding that we are using it to celebrate what we have as a nation.

According to him, ‘‘it is a new strategy, a new platform and innovative move to move our tourism forward,’’ adding that ‘‘we must move this country forward despite the challenges and what people say. When there challenges we have to look for positive and innovative ways to promote our country and that is what we have done by with this new campaign’’.

At the occasion, he unveiled the promotional materials produced for the campaign, which he said is part of effort to ensure that Team Nigeria at the 2012 London Olympics got the  world’s attention.
