Amosun receives US Consul General

Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has said the state remains a strong force to reckon with, not only in Nigeria, but Africa and the world.

He explained that the sons and daughters of the state had, at one time or the other, done the state proud and placed it on the world map.

Amosun disclosed this yesterday in Abeokuta when he hosted the United States Consul General in Lagos, Mr Jeffrey Hawkins, who was accompanied by the Political and Economic Advisor at the Consulate, Mr Roulf Olsen.

The state helmsman said the visit was timely as the state was ready to partner genuine foreign investors.

“We are very accommodating in Ogun. We are providing an environment conducive to business through investment in infrastructure and security,” the governor said.

Hawkins said he had read much about the achievements of the governor and confirmed that “Ogun State is really a gateway to opportunities.”

The visitors, thereafter, toured some tourist sites in Abeokuta which included the ancient Olumo Rock, International Adire/Kampala Market at Asero and Palace of the Alake of Egbaland.
