Check Out Saraki’s Official Portrait As Senate President

The official portrait of the new senate president, Dr. Olubukola Saraki, has been released.

It was released by the Media Office of the Senate President, Bamikole Omishore on Sunday.

The former governor of  Kwara state and senator representing Kwara Central, was elected as the new President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on June 9, 2015.

Saraki emerged as the winner unopposed by 57 of 108 Senators, with 51 Senators missing, including Ahmed Lawan, who was the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

After Saraki’s victory many Nigerians took to social media to display mixed reactions on Saraki’ election.

In a related development the senate president, has started initiating peace moves with his colleagues and the leadership of APC, who are opposed to his victory.

Meanwhile  a pressure group, the Nigeria Needs Positive Change Group (NNPCG), has urged the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to publicly recognize the emergence of Bukola Saraki as the Senate president. This plea is coming after Tinubu vowed never to recognize Saraki as the senate president.
