Ministry trains Yobe workers on rural water supply

THE African Development Bank (ADB) in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources has commenced a three-day training workshop for the staff of Yobe State Local Council Water Sanitation and Hygiene Department on monitoring and evaluation of data.

The training is part of efforts to make the country to achieve the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) on rural water supply and sanitation.

The National Coordinator John F. Mamza who spoke to reporters at the venue of the workshop at Jigawa State Library complex yesterday indicated that the training was instructive going by the data on facilities for water sanitation.

The African Development Bank commenced rural water supply and sanitation programmes in two states, Osun and Yobe, since 2009 to ensure that by 2015 at least 90 per cent of the rural communities  would have access to water and hygiene.
