No going back on Igbo president in 2015, says Ezeife

FORMER Governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Pius Ezeife, has said that Ndigbo must produce the nation’s president in 2015 and stressed that the mission was realisable.

He insisted further that nothing would stop Ndigbo from producing the next President and argued that by the time President Goodluck Jonathan completed his tenure, every geopolitical zone should have taken its turn as Chief Executive of Nigeria for five years and more.

“Therefore, by this time, nothing shall stop Igbo from producing the president”, he noted.

Ezeife spoke in an interview on Tuesday in Awka, while speaking on the Honourary Doctorate Degree conferred on him by the Nnamdi Azikiwe University during its ninth convocation.

On plans to remove fuel subsidy, he said: “We have a body that is in charge of supplying petroleum products. That body takes about 450,000 barrels of oil per day and processes it into refined petroleum products.

“Nobody will talk of subsidy anywhere, we are not removing subsidy, but subsidy will just disappear and we use what God gave us to fend for ourselves”.

He suggested that there should be no more commercial importation of petroleum products into the country.

Ezeife who also spoke on the national award conferred on him, expressed gratitude to God for all His favours towards him.

“When there is gratification, I thank God for it.”

He reminded everybody, both young and old to always know that there is God in heaven who sees everything, knows everything and can compensate you for anything you do, whether good or evil.”
