Buruji Kashamu, the man wanted to be put behind bars by American justice, has been spotted today in his senatorial seat at the Senate chambers. Buruji Kashamu’s colleagues applauded him as he was casting his vote for the new Deputy Senate president.

Senator, whose name has become the synonym of controversy due to the indictments on drug charges in the US, has been spotted this morning seated at the Senate chambers during proceedings for the election of Deputy Senate president.

His colleagues expressed him their support, applauding while Buruji Kashamu was casting his vote.

Kashamu has been declared as the winner of Ogun east senatorial district election two months ago and he contested under the platform of PDP.

Together with the fact that the Senator Ike Ekweremadu, who has just been elected as the Deputy Senate President, also represents PDP platform, it looks like a massive retaliation against the ruling APC party after PDP defeat in recent general election.

Senator Buruji Kashamu should be in jail instead of senatorial seat – that’s what the US officials insist on.
Nevertheless, Lagos Federal High Court urged the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to suspend all actions on Buruji Kashamu’s extradition to the US.
