Pillars thrash Giwa 4-1

Kano Pillars thrashed Giwa 4-1 in a week 12 game of the Nigeria league to maintain their unbeaten home record.

Pillars are now third on the league table with 21 points from 10 games.

Rabiu Ali opened the scoring in the sixth minute, when he converted a spot kick awarded after he was brought down inside the 18-yard box by a Giwa defender.

In the 13th minute, Adamu Mohammed doubled the home team’s lead with a chip over Giwa goalkeeper Friday Achimugwu.

The Jos-based team halved the deficit in the 37th minute, when Ocheme Edoh headed home captain Charles Henlong’s cross.

Two minutes after Giwa’s goal, Rabiu Ali bagged a brace when he converted another penalty after he was brought down again by Giwa defender Ibrahim Akide.

Adamu Mohammed completed his own brace to make it 4-1 for Pillars from a goal mouth scramble.
