Buhari’s Action To NASS Elections: A Credence to His Inaugural Speech?
Is the attitude of President Muhammadu Buhari towards the emergence of the leaders of the 8th National Assembly laying credence to his inaugural speech? This is a million naira question demanding an answer.
“I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody…The Federal Executive under my watch will not seek to encroach on the duties and functions of the Legislative and Judicial arms of government. The law enforcing authorities will be charged to operate within the constitution”.
Those were the words of President Muhammadu Buhari during his inauguration as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on May 29.
According to political pundits, the words were taken as a mere political statement and jargons of politicians when it was uttered but President Muhammadu Buhari has come to prove pessimist wrong. His recent actions have shown that he is a man of his words, a man of his own not a push around.
This they said is sending signals to politicians who believe that President Buhari will not be a tool in the hands of political cabals who felt they helped brought him to power. He has proved that his interest is that of Nigerians and not to certain people who believe they are Lords of The Ring.
Because Buhari saw the National Assembly election as being free and fair he has pledge to work with the leaders of the National Assembly while his party, APC, is still groaning

Meanwhile the said meeting of All Progressive Congress senators that was called earlier last Tuesday said to have been called by President Buhari have since been debunked. The meeting it was later gathered was called by the National Leaders of the party through the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, thus its being shun by the members who were at the election that elected Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President.
