President Buhari WANTED In World Leading Countries

World leading nations are offering President Muhammadu Buhari numerous state visits this year.

Premium Times notes that the recent period, following Buhari’s May 29 inauguration, has been characterized by a series of positive  publications and reports about Nigeria in the international media.

It what seems to be an unconnected development, Buhari has been invited to three countries (UK, US, India) to meet their top officials. Moreover, Nigeria’s president and the country delegation are awaited by the United Nations for organization’s 70th anniversary in New York this September.

It is believed that the UN gathering offers unique opportunities to celebrate the nations which are moving ahead in terms of public record or global goodwill. On the other hand, it could signify a celebration of warm ties between countries and their leaders.

Feedback from the US visit is of special interest for both countries, as their diplomatic relationships soured after the Chibok girls abduction, when the American side joined the military operation.

The victory of Buhari and Osinbajo at the presidential election is expected to resolve the diplomatic conflict.

The US official, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, already discussed with the Nigerian delegation the programme of the proposed White House meeting.

It is worth noting, however, that the specific dates of Buhari’s visit to the mentioned countries are yet to be provided. Presidency sources, who pleaded for anonymity, disclosed that the dates would be soon announced, with the US trip likely coming first on the list.

It seems like after ht e swearing-in President Buhari has spent more time abroad than in Nigeria. He has visited Niger, Chad, Germany and South Africa. All the trips were first aimed at discussing the security challenges.
